Hi,Andrei Verovski (aka MacGuru)<andreil1@xxxxxxxxxxx> 16/4/2006 00:39 >>>
I did it just yesterday, because, well, I am need opposite, a PHP4 for old
software, while running PHP 5 for my stuff. I have installed XAMP (which have
bot PHP4 & PHP 5 which can switched with command line)
http://www.apachefriends.org/en/index.html
The problem is::
Running xamp and SuSE apache/PHP simultaneosly is an awkward process to say at
least, even if you specify different ports numbers, because, for example, PHP
module from xamp for whatever reason can connect only to mysql from xamp and
NOT from SuSE.
Anyway, just give a try.
Thanks, Andrei. It sounds like a good solution. Have you ever tried to install XAMPP bounded to a secondary IP address in your box? I must recognize that I've no idea about how to add such an address to a SuSE box!
Cheers,
Ricardo
