I discovered that my system has three different versions of the Java

problem to have multiple versions around?
No.
And if so, which one should I keep? (Yast doesn't
object to having all three.)
It's hard to say, it depends on what you use Java for. If it's just to
run the odd Java-applet in your browser, pick the newest version.
