Can anyone recommend what software will burn photos to a CD that can be
viewed on a TV player?

I have done this by simply putting the desired image files on a CD/DVD with
k3b. My DVD player read the disc and automatically played it as a slide show.
No special software needed, though others may know of some to do more
sophisticated things.

Did you burn it as a data disk? I tried that and they won't display on
the TV. I didn't see any other way to burn them.
