Sorry, not ungrateful for replies, just away for a
few days.

downloaded the email and then deleted them from the server
Eeek.
I thought the point of IMAP was to keep the mail on
the server and manage it there, rather than
on local machines (that was why I wanted it, anyway).
Mac users must be a weird bunch if they'd default to
wiping server-held mail a-la POP3.
I keep running afoul of my assumptions, but I haven't
quite figured out where I get 'em from in the first
place. Perhaps I've got a random-assumption generator.
Where's the "off" switch?
You might also want to make sure there aren't any hidden
(unsubscribed)
What's the significance of your use of "unsubscribed"
in this case? I mean, I didn't immediately equate it
to hidden in terms of files. Was that a reference to
a file-system attribute or to a mail file/folder attribute,
or something else?
folders on the IMAP server. Many email clients will default
to a setting
of "show only subscribed folders", so if your email has been moved to
another folder on the server, they would become "hidden"
I had Konq set to "show hidden files" when I was looking,
but of course I only looked in places I thought likely.
Maybe I'll try searching from the command line for
???????????????????????????.???? unless somebody
has a more useful pattern to use for Maildir files?
Thanks,
Kevin (with a big hole in his archive now)
