I received the Suse 10.1 DVD with a Linux Magazine recently, and uponcp --recursive --preserve <DVD_path> <target>
attempting to install, I received three 'error reading sector' messaged.
When I reported this to the magazine, I got a message explaining the the
problem is usually related to the installation, not the media. She (Olga)
made no reference to the three "error reading" sectors I cited by number.
In any event, she suggested that I copy all of the files to my hard drive. If
I were in 4DOS, no problem. No so in linux. Can someone give the the
command line to copy all of the files, including in directories, hidden, and
whatever, so I have all of the files on the hard disk. I prefer the command
line, so when I get to a bad sector, I will get an error, which I can refer
to Olga.
