I only fixed it by updating to KDE 3.5.3.
Actually, at least in my case, upgrading to 3.5.3 didn't help at all but
upgrading to 3.5.4 fixed the problem.

This computer is environment-friendly and is running on OpenSuSE 10.1
I upgraded to 3.5.3 and everything is working fine, thanks for the info.
