SuSE 10.1 - KDE 3.5.x I normally run KDE, but I do have Gnome installed.
When I go into "Configure - Kdesktop - Behavior -> General", select and
apply "Show icons on desktop", I see this:

Now if I deselect and apply "Show icons on desktop", I see this:
http://www.cadmat.com/files/gsnap.png Which is ridiculous, because it
displays and behaves as a Gnome desktop (complete with non-requested
icons) under KDE. The KDE taskbar remains, but everything else is Gnome.
Can anyone offer any suggestions as to how I can stop Gnome running
under KDE?
At some point you ran some gnome software which started nautilus as part of
its operation. If you don't want to kill nautilus and keep it killed, you can
run gconf-editor, and go to
apps/nautilus/preferences
and uncheck "show_desktop"
Thanks Anders. I guessed it had to be something simple.
