Is there anything I can do for this short of reinstalling?
What happens when you try Yast? The globe can't get Kernel stuff for me. I
always get a FTP time out. But Yast always works. OTOH everything but kernel
updates work fine.
OK, I tried that using the "system update" function in YAST. I'd stayed
away from that before because I seem to remember having heard bad things
about it on the list. I tried it, and it seemed to go well.
I rebooted, waited a while, and the globe turned orange again. Clicked
on it, and there were half a dozen net-snmpd updates. Let it proceed,
and now my system seems to be fine, and the globe is blue again.
Thanks!
