Changing to the German Keyboard layout is an option, but not quite
convenient.

Config in /etc/sysconfig/keyboard, combinations
in /usr/share/kbd/keymaps/include/* (but what specific file(s) depend(s) upon
settings in config).
I suppose one could add more combinations, but maybe best in a separate file,
and add the file in the config.
