That splash screen is the problem... That splash screen is the KDM
defaul theme.
Before that you used to have the SuSE Theme...

No, it is not the default KDM splash that pops up (for me)... it's a
blue SUSE-ified splash screen that says SUSE 10.1 and on the next line
KDE 3.5... exactly the same style as the splash screen on a default
DVD install of 10.1... but now with an update to the KDE version.
Sorry Clayton, I miss understood you. I interpreted your 'Splash Screen'
as 'Login Manager Theme'.
I know, it's different, very different... my apologies...


I can't remember the exact build of KDE 3.5 I installed (not at that
computer right now so can't check the build number)... it was
installed using Smart with all the 3rd party repositories enabled (the
Smart build from SUSE Guru).
