glxgears is not meant to be used as a benchmark, it's only a quick way of
seeing if you have 3d acceleration active at all. You really can't use
those FPS numbers as a measurement of how fast your card is
We know that, but it's worded somewhat in the past so that the user would have
an idea how well a driver was working.
if "glxinfo|grep rendering" says "yes", then you have 3d acceleration.
That isn't the problem......games that used to run without "jerking" now
don't. The driver simply ISN'T as good as it should be.
