So your system does have the inputs - perhaps it's a different
chipset?

Well, the system incorporates an ICH8R. Does KMix give a different
name on your system?

Mine shows up as a SigmaTel STAC9227

So it would seem that the audio is not part of the ICH8 chip itself, but
rather a separate I/O chip. So the fact that you and I have different
ones means there's probably little to be gained by comparing them.

No worries, I assumed it was part of ICH8 too! Thasnks for taking the time to
