(1) Upgrade to the current version of OPENSUSE

or

(2) Try downloading the iso for SUSE 10.0 (I presume you are on ix86):

Sorry Charles (and everybody else). False alarm.

I'm tired. Time for bed, I think. I'll have another go tomorrow
evening. Many, many thanks for all of your help.

Rather than dl'ing the .iso, if you can come up with the names of the
required files, it might be possible to have the e-mailed to you, or
better yet, to get them off of one of SuSE's ftp servers, even if you
have to add the server as an installation source.
