Edit /opt/kde3/share/config/kdm/kdmrc

Change

[Xdmcp]
# Whether KDM should listen to incoming XDMCP requests.
# Default is false
Enable=false

to

Enable=true

One thing to bear in ming that X over most internet connections will be very slow. You may find simply using SSH and running the apps individually works better or use something like VNC.
