Re: [opensuse] Installing new Installation source

Hi,

Hy,
I'm using openSUSE 10.2 with great satisfaction, but when I trie with
Yast to make a new installation source in a local directory
/windows/C/MyDownloadFiles/ it reacts with: Can't make installation
source. Unknown source type for dir:///windows/C/MyDownloadFiles/

Why this? May be I did something wrong, but what?

What does /windows/C/MyDownloadFiles contain? Yast expects a product in the
specified directory (CD1/DVD1 copy or a YUM repository). If you want to use an
ISO image check the option in the dialog.

If you have just plain RPM files (no metadata, no directory media.1 or
suse/setup...) use "Package Directory" type of the source.

Ladislav

Indeed I should chose Package Directory instead of Local Directory.
The reason why is not clear for me because in both I used the same directory.

Thanks,
