RE: [opensuse] read only status on files copied from linux server to windows 2003



I have scraped the plan before I got your email message an am going
to
another linux machine.
Like I said I have to have a windows server for the antivirus
software an
access control into the building ( it controls the locks an alarm
system).

Thanks mike for the info. Like I said I am not continuing with the windows
server for the project of redoing the main linux server, I am moving the
data to another linux machine an using that while I'm rebuilding the main
linux server, this second linux machine has raid on it just not the
mirroring raid that is on my main server. My boss had suggested / told me to
use the windows server for the backup server til the main one was back up an
running. In the process of coping over stuff to it I ran into the problem an
have now decided to do what you were suggesting, had started on that before
I read your email the first time. My boss is not one to play with or use
linux , If something was to happen to me I'm not sure how long he would stay
with linux on the main server but for now we are using it since I can work
with linux.
The windows server is up and running an serving up my antivirus software
for workstations and also running my access control system for the building
( it has to be windows for this for now ). I have the new hard drives here
but am waiting on suse 10.2 to get here from novell ( should be here
Monday). Then I will rebuild the linux server. Come Monday after noon when
I get the suse 10.2 box set I will start on the rebuilding of the main linux
server. I have to do the coping of data after hours so not to have down time
for the office, getting over time now for the project also, can't beat that.
