Go to the ATI (amd) website.
Downloads section.
Download the proper driver .run package for your distro
and processor.
Store in /root directory
Ctrl-Alt-F1
type init 3 (enter)
chmod 700 <downloaded.run) (where downloaded is a stand in for the big
long fuzzy name, similar to ati-driver-installer-8.36.5-x86.x86_64.run
(which may vary by processor)
./<downloaded.run> --help (read for clues)
./<downloaded.run> --listpkg (see list of packages it can build>
./<downloaded.run> --buildpkg <package> (where <package> is from above list
stand back and watch der blinkin lights und spitzen sparks...
rpm --install (rpm name created by above)
