1) Have you setup the machine to route traffic between lan and DSl?
2) Do you want to setup the machine to do the above.

Answer varies depending on what you wish to do and what you have done.

More info would help.

Unless routing (and/or) IP forwarding is properly set there are no rules
saying what traffic should go where...
