Hi,

I'm a Linux user since more than 10 years and have really sufficient
experiences with various distributions but OpenSuse 10.2 is just the
horror!

It's unbelievable but I was not even able to find security updates!

Let me summarize:
* zen-updater doesn't find any updates. Probably I have to add a URL.
* The same is true for Yast online update
* There is a Online Update configuration in Yast available but after
selecting "configure later" it just terminates

Probably I just have to add a new online source. But which one? I
searched via Google (keywords: en: "OpenSuse 10.2 security updates",
de: "OpenSuse 10.2 Sicheraktualisierungen [einspielen]") maybe 30
minutes (or even longer) but did not find anything!

http://www.rrzn.uni-hannover.de/update.html is probably the best
information and just mentions that I have to add a mirror as e.g.
ftp.gwdg.de. Browsing this server I found only
http://ftp.gwdg.de/pub/opensuse/update/10.3/ and ISO files for 10.2.

Where are the security updates????

I also checked the homepage http://www.opensuse.de, read the FAQ, and a
few further links ... without luck!

Shame on you! Normally I would report this as bug (at least against the
website) but my last experiences with Novell was that I need to register
first and that I even have to specify my (snail) mail address. I will
not do so and try to ignore all Suse related bugs that's why (in Debian
I report everything, often provide patches but OpenSuse, oh no ...).

Conclusion: I don't need a reply to this mail, I just don't care. But I
strongly suggest that this will be improved!

PS: I'm not subcribed.

Jens
