[opensuse] boot from USB without USB choice in bios

Still working on my trusty Pentium II which does not give me the possibility
to have USB as boot possibility. Same with my Pentium III laptop.
Would like to use my USB stick for booting a live linux but found up to now no
usable solutions.
Can somebody help me out?
