[opensuse] Problems withMP3 codecs and banshee on Opensuse 10.3

Hi,
I've been setting up some new computers with 10.3 and I've used
http://suseforums.net/index.php?showtopic=26104 to install support for MP3
etc (using the Gnome link since that's what's on the machines!). I've also
done a full update of the software to the latest versions as part of the
installation.
Now Banshee won't play MP3 files (though RealPlayer does play them).
I tried doing a custom install from the above link and installed all the
optional gstreamer parts, but that didn't help either.
Am I doing something wrong, or is there perhaps something that's broken since
the above link was put together? (When you install the restricted formats
support, speex has a package conflict which I solved by choosing "Install
this even though it would change the vendor, as per the instructions for the
KDE version, but that shouldn't affect the MP3 support anyway).
My system at home still plays MP3s in Banshee, but then I'm running KDE and it
started life as a 10.2 install which has been upgraded to 10.3, whereas the
new machines are a totally fresh install of 10.3).
Cheers,
