Using 10.3 and KDE (this is one reason i liked gnome, i could get to any
system). I go into my computer and click on network folders. Then click on
SMB shares. This finds my domain but this pc is not listed in the domain for
some reason (i have no idea why, i do not use a firewall on the linux box or
on the other system). So, in the Location bar, i type smb://systemname and
get:
An error occurred while loading smb://dollydagger/c$:
Timeout on server
dollydagger
I can ping it by DNS name and ip, so i know DNS is working and the system isAnyone? Samba-client is installed
up and available. I try to connect to it by ip:
smb://ipaddress and get the same error above. How do i connect to another
system running that other OS? All i want is to connect to the admin share of
that other system.
