The KDE project thought so too. KDE 4 makes Win and Mac target platforms for
KDE applications (not the desktop shell though). For KDE 4.0 only the
libraries are really available. Expect to see significant KDE applications
becoming available on these platforms for KDE 4.1
Kontact and therefore KMail is being actively ported at the moment, expect
more news on dot.kde.org as 4.1 gets nearer. It's scheduled for release in
July.
