Re: [opensuse] xen kernel 2.6.22-17 hung during bootup

I have on board Intel Corporation 82575EB Gigabit Network Connection which use "igb".
For vanilla 2.6.22 I had to compile the driver but then it worked fine with no problem.

I tried to use xen 2.6.25 got that from the factory repository and I manage to boot but I had problem getting
nvidia driver to work.

So I might just drop xen all together and use vmware.

Still getting the same result, the problem happens in the
boot.localnet script which calls ifup to configure lo interface.

Try using NetworkManager instead of the traditional way :)

You can't use NetworkManager with the Xen kernel because of the way that Xen
creates it's virtual network interfaces. You must use the traditional
ifup/ifdown method. It sounds like you have a dodgy network driver in use.
What network cards do you have present? Wireless? Do you have any proprietary
kernel modules being loaded that taint the kernel and could cause problems
with Xen?
