Re: [opensuse] Factory repo rpm problem

Hi, I just tried to update OpenOffice from factory and (fortunately
before downloading the real big files) every file, so far, fails with
the rpm error :- "unpacking of archive failed: cpio: Bad magic" Anybody
else know how many corrupt files are in the factory repo or if anybody
is aware of this problem yet.

The issue is that the payload in RPM is no longer bzip2 compressed. So the rpm executable you have on your workstation is not able to deal with the new .rpm files.

Updating rpm package should help you get over it.
