[opensuse] Ralink wireless does not work

Hello List,
Have an MSI - M670, Sempron64 with a Ralink 802.11g MiniPCI Wireless, it is
running dual boot: XP SP2 and openSUSE 10.3 (x86_64) KDE: 3.5.7.

Wireless runs fine under XP but will not start under opdnSUSE (everything
else working fine with the exception of the 3D acceleration of my video
card, but this I can live without).

Tried recompiling the Kernel with the Ralink firmware, tried using
ndiswrapper, tried the drivers supplied by the rt2×00.serialmonkey project,
nothing seemed to work!

Only succeeded in corrupting Yast2 but could not even see the SSID
broadcasted, finally reinstalled openSUSE.

Presently my wireless details are:
04:09.0 Network controller: RaLink RT2561/RT61 rev B 802.11g
Subsystem: Micro-Star International Co., Ltd. Unknown device b833

The problem is probably my lack of experience with Linux, also the
instructions seem to be incomplete or assuming I know something that I do
not.

Determined to make wireless work but have no clue as how to proceed.

Recommendations?

Thanks in advance,

Józsi
