This is HowTo move Evolution data and setup from one computer to other
one or to back it up before do a bare metal installation of a new
version of the OS.
1. Force shutdown.
In the Old computer:
$ evolution --force-shutdown
In the New One:
$ evolution --force-shutdown
$ gconftool-2 --shutdown
2. Copy 2 folder from the old to the new.
Copy the folders from old to new, you must have all files from the
~/.evolution
and
~/.gconf/apps/evolution
directories.
If you use the same username then it is all what you need. If you change
the user's name things a far more complicated. Just post it and I will
help you. The easy one is to use the same user's name.
