[opensuse] mkinitrd failure (raid related?)

Got this error running on vanilla linux-2.6.25.4 and the
KOTD kernel-source-2.6.25.4-14.1.x86_64.rpm
Kernel image: /boot/vmlinuz-2.6.25.4-14-default
Initrd image: /boot/initrd-2.6.25.4-14-default
Root device: /dev/md2 (mounted on / as ext3)
Resume device: /dev/md1
Fatal storage error. Device /dev/ does not have a driver.
All I could find on Google was a pointer to the (old) bug report:

Any suggestions?
