[opensuse] Unmounting and kio_thumbnail

Hi, I see others have the same problem, but no solution yet.
When mounting my external USB drive in KDE, copy a couple of files and then trying to unmount, I get a warning about "kio_thumbnail" still using the drive.
Now I usually just sudo killall kio_thumbnail and umount - but is there some more elegant way of handling this? and I must add new adopters of Linux will not like this.
