when i try alsaconf i get this

Would you like to probe Legacy ISA sound cards/chip?

and, when i try lspci, this is my card
00:1b.0 Audio device: Intel Corporation 82801G (ICH7 Family) High
Definition Audio Controller (rev 01)

First, you should reply to the list so that others can see what you have
found. They might be able to help.

Is that an "on-board" sound device? Built into the motherboard?

Are you sure that the alsa driver installed properly? Go into Yast > Hardware
Sound and make sure your sound device is configured.
