qemu-system-x86_64 -boot d -cdrom /home/user/opensuse.iso -hda opensuse.img

You need to add "-m 512"
qemu-system-x86_64 -boot d -cdrom /home/user/opensuse.iso -hda
opensuse.img -m 512
