For years I have been using ssh, and when needed I used -X, but I thought it
would be interesting to have a full remote desktop though. I know that SUSE
has VNC, one the the members from a local LUG used my laptop to remotely
connect to his desktop but I don't know how he did it and I don't know what I
need to do to get it so I can connect to my desktop from my laptop and vice

"We must plan for freedom, and not only for security, if for no other reason
than only freedom can make security more secure." Karl Popper
1) Go under /etc/xinetd.d
2) Edit file named vnc to enable the service and set whatever
parameters you need (color depth, etc.)
3) In Yast go to the "Sytem Services" and enable xinetd
4) Make sure the port (usually, TCP 5901) is open.
5) Relax and enjoy.
