This is almost certainly a hardware power issue with your USB port. If
you are using a hub, it would need to be a powered hub. If internal,
many usb drives have a cable with 2 plugs for extra power. This would
be more noticeable with a longer amount of writes, which need more power
than idle or reading.
Hmmm I was thinking the same... I have a powered hub, and the internal
ports cabled to the front of teh case as well as right on the
motherboard. I have had the probelm with the powered hub, and the
ones on the front of the case.. i haven't tried the USB ports on the
motherboard itself. This is a new issue (ie since 11.1) that has
popped up... same hardware as with the last 2 releases, and USB hasn't
had this issue.
Anyway, I'll test the rear USB ports.. see if it still happens.
