Thanks for your response, Stephen!
For some reason, I can not find that setting. I can not find
"Grouping & Sorting" section. There's only:
Alignment
-> left
-> middle
-> right
Visibility
-> always
-> hide automatically
-> Control bar can be hidden by windows
-> remove control bar
No, that's the "More Settings" (which isn't really even a dialog
in the traditional sense) from the panel configuration, which
adjusts the panel as a whole. You want the "Task Manager
Settings" which affects that specific widget.
The "Task Manager" is just a widget that resides on the panel,
which is very similar to KDE 3, where the "Task List" (or whatever
it was called) was just an applet that resided on a kicker panel.
It can be difficult to find an empty area of the "Task Manager" to
click on, if it is completely full there may be no empty area. I
think in KDE 3 there was always a few pixels that you could use to
get the "Task Manager" popup, instead of the individual task
popup, but in KDE 4 that's not true.
In KDE 4, if you will click that panel "Cashew", so that you get
the "Screen Edge" and "Width"/"Height" controls, widgets will be
forbidden from handling right-click events. This makes it so
right-clicking anywhere in the "Task Manager" widget (even on a
task button) will give you the "Task Manager" popup, where you can
choose "Task Manager Settings" and get the dialog I spoke of
previously.
"Simple" steps to get the dialog I spoke of:
1) Make sure your widgets are unlocked.
a) If they are locked, there will be no panel cashew to click.
b) If they are locker, you should be able to right-click on the
desktop or a panel and choose "Unlock Widgets".
2) Click the panel cashew.
3) Right click a task on the "Task Manager".
4) Choose "Task Manager Settings".
