[opensuse] OpenOffice Templates are Cross-linked - How to fix?

Listmates,

I have a number of templates in ~/.ooo3/user/template. Specifically:

00:31 alchemy:~/.ooo3/user/template> l
total 360
drwxr-xr-x 2 david dcr 4096 2009-04-03 00:31 ./
drwxr-xr-x 17 david dcr 4096 2008-10-30 23:37 ../

-rw-r--r-- 1 david dcr 8545 2008-12-08 01:31 default.ott
-rwxr-x--- 1 david dcr 30465 2009-02-05 17:41 fax-3111skyline.ott*
-rw-r--r-- 1 david dcr 69925 2009-03-19 11:26 faxltr-Rankin_elec_sig1.ott
-rw-r--r-- 1 david dcr 27474 2009-02-14 02:08 fax-Rankin.ott
-rw------- 1 david dcr 266 2008-09-29 16:43 groupuinames.xml
-rwxr-x--- 1 david dcr 58654 2009-02-28 01:17 ltr-3111skyline_elec_sig.ott*
-rwxr-x--- 1 david dcr 15422 2008-09-29 17:09 ltr-3111skyline.ott*
-rwxr-x--- 1 david dcr 15422 2007-10-18 00:56 ltr-Rankin_CMRRR.ott*
-rwxr-x--- 1 david dcr 59546 2009-02-28 01:02 ltr-Rankin_elec_sig.ott*
-rwxr-x--- 1 david dcr 14124 2007-10-18 00:56 ltr-Rankin.ott*

The 'Rankin' files are my office letterhead, the '3111skyline' are my
home/personal letterhead. Somehow, since upgrading to ooo3, the links to the
templates are screwed up royally. Meaning that if I do:

File -> New -> Templates and Documents-> My Templates -> ltr-Rankin_elec_sig

Instead of getting my office letterhead w/electronic signature template:

(http://www.3111skyline.com/download/screenshots/ooo/rankin-letterhead.jpg)

I get my home template w/electronic signature:

(http://www.3111skyline.com/download/screenshots/ooo/3111-letterhead.jpg)

The files are *not* the problem because if I use konqueror and go to
~/.ooo3/user/template and click on ltr-Rankin_elec_sig.ott, then it pulls the
correct file up just fine. So somewhere in ooo's logic or links, something is
crosswired, but where?

I have grepped every directory, picked through every .xml file (found the
names in store.xcu) deleted the .xml files and forced a re-create of them, but
the stinking templates are still crossed.

The store.xcu entries look like this:

oor:name="vnd.sun.star.hier://com.sun.star.ucb.DefaultHierarchyDataSource/templates/en-US/My%20Templates/ltr-Rankin_elec_sig"
oor:op="replace">
<node oor:name="Values">
<node oor:name="TypeDescription" oor:op="replace">
<prop oor:name="Attributes" oor:type="xs:int">
<value>129</value>
</prop>
<prop oor:name="Handle" oor:type="xs:int">
<value>-1</value>
</prop>
<prop oor:name="State" oor:type="xs:int">
<value>1</value>
</prop>
<prop oor:name="Value" oor:type="xs:string">
<value>application/vnd.oasis.opendocument.text-template</value>
</prop>
</node>
</node>
</node>

Nothing in the entries shows a mismatch of the names for any of the entries.

I don't know why this would make any difference, but these templates were
ooo2.0 templates before openoffice was upgraded to 3.0. Since the upgrade to
3.0 (I can't recall when? 6-8 months ago when ever openSuSE put out the
release?) the templates have been backwards. I have even tried moving the
templates out of the .ooo3 template directory and starting and stopping ooo3
writer to 'reset' any links, but no joy. When I move the templates back or
re-add them, the mix up is back...

And now, to rub salt in the wound, I can't even display the "About OpenOffice"
dialog and 'copy' the version to paste it here to be precise about the version,
etc... because some little programmer thought it would be 'cute' to make it
impossible to copy from the dialog -- that's progress. Sheesh, this is 2009, I
shouldn't have to retype anything or drop to a console to query the rpm
database just to get the release information. So, the best I can do is just
take a screenshot of the little window:

Any ideas on what else I can do to straighten this mess out short of a bug
report? Thanks.
