I'm failing to use my USB stick within a Windows guest (actually not
Windows' fault as VBox doesn't offer to pass it through).

First a stupid question. Are you using the Opensuse Vbox? It does not support
USB devices. You must use the Sun version.

In my case, it's the Sun version... it also appears to be the Sun
version with all the other cases reported of this USB devices greyed
out thing.
