I'm trying to upgrade an new install of 11.1 to use KDE4.3. I've
followed the instructions in the url above, but I'm running into
problems.

zypper dup starts ok and begins doing its thing, but there ends up being
several messages about bad digests, for example

AFAIK zypper dup is for upgrading the whole OS not just individual
packages.

'zypper dup' can be used for that, it all depends on the repos used.

I think in general zypper dup will just update everything according to
whatever is in your active repos.

I don't have any repos pointing towards any 11.2 or factory stuff, other than
the one for KDE4.
