Hi,
the subject says it all: in every version of opensuse I tried the
fonts looked much better under gnome than under kde: more more
readable, with better contrast and more smooth overall.
The problem I have with gnome is that I detest it ;-)
Can anyone explain if and how I can get fonts to look as good in kde
as they look in gnome, please?
(I have a faint memory of somthing involving the bits per pixel that
is autodetected by gnome according to the screen resolution, maybe or
maybe not??).
Thanks,
Nico
Have you tried a Kubuntu Live CD to see if it has poor font rendering?
Its a quick cheap way to determine if there is something missing
from your Suse or KDE setup?
I haven't noticed this on my test machines.
