Perhaps not for dealing with spam. But I use procmail to sort incoming
mail into various Maildir/IMAP folders. Is there a better (not simply

Probably not better, but at least different :-) - I use my email agent
to do that. (Thunderbird).
I read my mail from different locations. I got very tired of having to
set up each e-mail reader. Also, IMAP makes it easier for me to switch
e-mail clients locally when I want to see the state of the various
programs.
