The way I clear the problem is exiting Kmail and deleting the 3 index
files associated with the mail folder.
i.e. <folder>.index, <folder>.ids, <folder>.sorted

When you restart Kmail all the indexes will be recreated and the body
of the message should be displayed.

Thanks. That did it for the inbox, I got the yesterdays NYTimes (in text
format) back and it worked for showing the email contents from the empty
messages.
A bit late in answering but we do not seem to be behind the computer at
the same time ;).
