If you are using KDE SC 4.4.1 on 11.2 you must be using the
KDE:KDE4:Factory:Desktop repository, which also contains digikam 1.2.0 (and
contained 1.0 and 1.1). Could you see if the problem goes away with a newer
version? The Digikam developers fix a lot of bugs.
