If that's all you want to do its easier to just run zypper dup (which has
the same effect as allowVendorChange=true && zypper up). But nevertheless I
definitely wouldn't recommend it without knowing at least what repo's he has
enabled.

Hmm, I thought there was more to zypper dup than
