You have totally lost me....

What does the opensuse mail lists have to do with the "piano technicians
guild"?

I think he means that grand pianos are in a minority. So kde4 is an upright
and kde3 a grand in this analogy. Or maybe it means that there are fewer fish
in the sea than three years ago. Or probably the Bach 48 are easier to play on
two manuals or Glenn Gould hummed when he played. Or E. None of the above.
