Hi, Patrick:
Mine is set to vga=791 (ie 0x317).
My monitor has 4:3 side ratio, not 5:4. 0x31a or 0x31b sets 1280x1024 resolution,
5:4 ratio. Why do you think it would help?
Nevertheless I will give a try when I get back to that machine.
No, will not fit your screen. I am mixing up things. I previously used
vga=731 w/4:3 20" monitor, but now 24.2", 1920x1200 which is 16:10 or 8:5.
