[opensuse] Playing DVDs in Kaffeine - 12.1

In a previous version of openSUSE, I was able to play DVDs on my computer, after downloading some codecs from Packman (IIRC). However, I don't seem to have much luck doing that now. I have the Packman multimedia repository added to the software repositories.
At the moment, I'm getting an error message "Read error from: Error reading from DVD", though earlier I had seen messages about encryption.
Any ideas?
tnx jk
