OK, here's how to make the system settings applet behave: don't open it
in Konqueror. If you use KDE Menu -> System Settings, it looks almost as
sexy as the OSX Prefernces applet, and stays the right size no matter
what. If you go Konqueror "settings:/" (what you get if you click
System Menu -> Settings) it will do the funky no-size-is-big-enough
nonsense.
Enjoy! (Ubuntu BugZilla just changed all the logins transferring to
Malone, so I can't update the bug yet.)
