IMHO that is not the case. It is easier to install Mandriva 10.0 and later than it is to install Windows, Ubuntu/Kubuntu is quite as good on the install (IMO).


You can take that fact from somebody ho migrated a year ago and is only now starting to feel confident in his abilities to get things done.

How long did you take to learn how to use Windows? I used Windows for about 5 years then switched to Linux in about my 2nd year of my software engineering degree (this doesn't mean I know a lot about the use of OS's or software applications) and within a year I could do a lot more than I ever learnt to do on Winblows.
