there is no need to set up things like that. just put the torrent in
~/.mldonkey/torrents/ and mldonky will automatically start downloading.

Thank you for that advice.

However, I did not have an ~/.mldonkey/torrents directory already, so I created one. I downloaded a torrent to it to see if MLDonkey would pick it up, but it doesn't seem to.

Is there further configuration of MLDonkey required to recognize the directory?
