Hi all, has anyone here tried to install and use AIM for linux from the

transfers in the mean time..? Thanks

I do file transfers in gaim to AIM contacts fairly frequently. If you
have control over your router (or are directly connected with an IP
address), just open up a port or 2 and forward them to your machine,
then go into the gaim preferences and set these options in the Network
area:

1) Uncheck autodetect IP address and set it to your public IP address
(find this out at http://www.whatismyip.org/ )
2) Manually specify the port range to be the ports that you are
forwarding to your machine from your router.
