Up until a few years ago I used to program in Free Pascal under

Does anyone have recommendations ?? I know Free PAscal (or I did )
so am notmreally interested in GPC.
Ubuntu builds every package from sources. You cannot build Free Pascal
from sources without having a working Free Pascal. That's why binary
fpc packages are not available for Ubuntu.
I've had luck downloading fpc packages from Debian and installing them
on Ubuntu.
